We went on a Saturday lunch time, and the place was filled with people with most tables pre-reserved. We were fortunate to get a table for 2 without having to wait.
The menu was impressive with a selection of antipasto, salad, pasta, and of course pizzas. There were also a range of dessert on display including tiramisu and gelato.
Lunch started with a latte as usual. The latte here was alright, and a good start to lunch.
The 2 of us shared a small (piccolo) antipasto plate.for $16.90. It came with impored salumi (sundried tomatoes, salami, cucumber, and vine leaves stuffed with rice), olives, italian cheese, and bread. It was a good way to try a bit of everything. We enjoyed this dish, but struggled to finish it due to the generous portion, and the saltiness of everything (which was expected).
We also shared a Fungi pizza ($18.90), with imported mozarella, gorgonzola (a blue-veined cheese), mixed mushrooms, caramelised onions, and white truffle oil. The pizza was thin based and hand stretched to order. I was impressed with the quality of the pizza, and enjoyed the fresh pizza bread with great cheese and meaty mushrooms. The sweetness of the caramelised onion added a welcomed extra layer of flavour.
We had a wonderful lunch here. The displayed cabinet with various Italian dessert was very tempting, but we were unfortunately too full to try any! We also had a wander through the grocery part, with a good selection of Mediterranean food, including wine, cheese, and cold cut meat.
Definitely recommend this place for lunch, but next time we will need more people to share the antipasto and pizza so we can try the dessert!
